Installing OpenLinux Getting Started Guide 47 Formatting your OpenLinux Partitions The next screen, shown in Figure 24, lists the partitions that OpenLinux will be installed in. At a minimum, the list includes these two lines: A Root Partition, with a mount point of “/” A Virtual Memory partition, with a mount point of “swap” FIGURE 24.  In the target partitions screen you must format the selected partitions before continuing. The Formatting column shows Yes for the corresponding partitions, indicating that these partitions will be formatted. CAUTION: Although you can use the Back button to return to a previous screen in the installation, the formatting of the partitions cannot be undone. Any information already in the formatted partitions is lost when you choose “Format chosen partitions.” 1. Before you can continue, you must choose the “Format chosen parti- tions” button to format these partitions.
